On behalf of Olympic Triathlete Jarrod Shoemaker, we would like to thank our athletes, volunteers, and spectators for a spectacular inaugural event in Harvey Cedars.

As you know, the Jersey shore has suffered significant damage due to super storm Sandy. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this tragedy and we trust this summer that scores of visitors will descend on LBI to support the local commerce.

We have been carefully monitoring the situation to see if we can stage a safe triathlon on LBI in 2013. There is nothing more in the world we would prefer than to use this triathlon to help raise valuable money for neighboring families who need help. Unfortunately, we have made the hard decision to take a hiatus this year and come back bigger and stronger in 2014.
